Innovation is finally here! 3Daughters’ small frameless, magnetic, nonhormonal IUD self-assembles in the uterus and conforms to a woman’s body – with no strings attached. Through technological and scientific advancements, we are addressing the pain and resulting ‘fear factor’ of IUD insertion. We are currently in preclinical development, preparing an IND, and plan to be in clinical trials next year.
At 3Daughters, we execute milestones with capital efficiency. The FDA regulates IUDs as ‘drugs’ rather than devices, meaning they require clinical trials and NDA filings. After raising $4.7 million in an oversubscribed Seed Round, we are now seeking $15 million in Series A funding to support Phase 1 trials of our IUD.
Our 5-year clinical development plan begins with an IND filing in 2025, followed by an NDA filing in 2029. By leveraging copper’s proven safety and efficacy through the 505(b)(2) pathway, we’re reducing clinical risk. Early preclinical data is promising, and our proactive, transparent regulatory strategy is guided by ongoing FDA input.
We’ve also partnered with the NIH to test our innovative frameless, magnetic, copper IUD at NICHD’s Biological Testing Facility as part of their research to optimize contraception.

3Daughters is tackling the pain associated with T-shaped IUD insertion—a key barrier that prevents many women from choosing one of the most effective forms of birth control. Our innovative frameless, magnetic, nonhormonal IUD (3D-001) and integrated magnetic Slider™ system (for insertion and retrieval) are designed to reduce pain for patients and increase ease for both patients and providers. By addressing the “fear factor,” we aim to reduce unintended pregnancies and improve the overall IUD experience.

Our team brings extensive experience in all aspects of women’s healthcare, with over ten decades of combined expertise in executive management within multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Our skills span business development, marketing, clinical development, finance, project management, manufacturing and operations/engineering. Additionally, we are supported by a distinguished Scientific Advisory Board, which includes several well-known thought leaders in women’s health, including professors and practitioners in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
“The Science Behind 3D-001”
3Daughters’ innovative IUD technology breaks from the traditional T-shape by harnessing the power of physics and geometry. The 3D-001 consists of three magnetically charged ellipses that self-assemble into a stable triad in the uterus once inserted with our i-Slider™ (retriever). Designed to gently float and conform to a woman’s body, the ellipses are encased in copper, a proven, nonhormonal spermicide.
